This one-off project, by car manufacturer BMW, is to showcase their commitment to the future of electric vehicles & zero emissions.The iconic Mini Cooper’s 1,275cc engine has been traded for an electric motor, powered by lithium batteries, with a top speed of 75mph and range of 65 miles. According to the Daily Mail the ‘Mini teased an electric version of the current hatchback, back in August and is due to launch the production-ready version soon…..Engineers at the car maker fitted the once-collectible model with 30 lithium-iron phosphate batteries to give it a range capable of driving from London to Oxford on a single charge!
They added, that if there’s any traditionalists out there, ’Mini has no plans to make this a regular conversion, with the Classic Electric Mini strictly a one off project.’
