The cheapest and lightest way into the range, at 38 kg on a 635 mm seat. If this is a first electric dirt bike, or it is being bought for someone smaller, start here.
Ultra Bee X HP
The full-size machine, for private land, tracks and green lanes. Buy this one if you already ride off-road and want the power and the range rather than the easy option.
Ultra Bee L3e HP
The same bike, type approved and plated, so it can be taxed, insured and ridden on the road on a CBT. Buy this one if you want to ride to where you ride rather than load a van.

About Sur-Ron
Sur-Ron helped create the lightweight electric dirt bike class. The bikes are built around a mid-mounted motor and a removable lithium battery, weigh a fraction of a petrol equivalent, and have no fuel, no oil and no clutch. That is why they turn up everywhere from motocross practice tracks to farm tracks and delivery yards.
Three models are on our books. The Hyper Bee at £2,799 is the entry point: 38 kg, 40 mph and up to 35 miles of range, on a low 635 mm seat. The Ultra Bee X at £5,999 is the full-size off-road bike: 88.5 kg, 24.5 kW in Turbo, 59 mph and up to 71 miles. The Ultra Bee L3E at £6,499 is the same platform registered for the road, at 91 kg. The Ultra Bees charge in two and a half hours and the Hyper Bee in two.
Road legal or off-road is the first decision to make. The L3E is type approved, registered and plated, so it can be insured and ridden on public roads on a CBT. The Ultra Bee X and the Hyper Bee are not road legal in the UK. They are for private land where you have the landowner’s permission, or for a track or a pay-and-ride site. Riding an off-road model on a road, a pavement, a bridleway or a park is an offence and the bike can be seized.
Where the Sur-Ron Light Bee fits
The Light Bee is the bike that made Sur-Ron’s name, and it is the model we are asked about more than any other. It is still in the range in two forms. The Light Bee X is £3,495, off-road only, 10 kW and 50 mph. The road-legal Light Bee L1e is £4,499, registered as an L1e moped, which limits it to 28 mph but means it can be ridden at 16 on a CBT. Both weigh around 60 kg on an 830 mm seat and will do up to 46 miles on a charge.
Against the rest of the range, the Hyper Bee undercuts the Light Bee on price and is 20 kg lighter, which makes it the easier bike to learn on and the easier one to lift into a van. The Ultra Bee goes past it on power, speed and range for a good deal less than double the money. If it is a Light Bee you want, talk to us. Buying from us. Finance on the road-legal bikes is through MotoNovo, on hire purchase or PCP, and most bike pages carry a calculator so you can see a monthly figure before you commit. Servicing is mobile and nationwide, priced by zone, so the bike does not have to come back to Norfolk. UK delivery is a flat £199 including VAT. What is the difference between the Ultra Bee and the Hyper Bee?
The Ultra Bee is the bigger bike: 59 mph, up to 71 miles, 24.5 kW, 88.5 kg and a 910 mm seat. The Hyper Bee is 40 mph, up to 35 miles, 8 kW, 38 kg and a 635 mm seat, which makes it much easier to handle and a better first bike. The Ultra Bee is also the only one of the two you can have road registered.
How fast is a Sur-Ron Hyper Bee?
The Hyper Bee tops out at 40 mph and will do up to 35 miles on a charge. It runs an 8 kW motor and weighs 38 kg, which is less than half the weight of an Ultra Bee.
How far will a Sur-Ron go on one charge?
Sur-Ron rate the Ultra Bee at up to 71 miles and the Hyper Bee at up to 35 miles, both measured at a steady cruise. The Ultra Bee charges from 20 to 80 per cent in two and a half hours and the Hyper Bee in two. Real range depends on the rider, the terrain and how much of it you spend at full throttle.

The Ultra Bee L3E is. It is type approved, registered and plated, so it can be insured and ridden on public roads on a CBT. The Ultra Bee X is the same bike without road registration, and it is for private land and off-road use only.

Yes, the Light Bee is still in Sur-Ron's current range in two versions: the off-road Light Bee X at £3,495 and the road-legal Light Bee L1e at £4,499.
