The UK is set to see an e.bike boom according to Cycling Industry News. They say not a boom ” in the sense that we had the BMX boom, the MTB boom and the Road boom – but we should see some pretty steady and consistent growth in this area.”
The predicted rise in e.bike sales they suggest is due to a number of factors, congestion charge, low emission zones, increasing EV awareness, Electric bike-share schemes and “mainstream manufacturer interest in shared and purchased e.bikes which drives awareness.”
The EV message appears to be getting out there with some manufacturers having finally “got it right” and the change in “Consumer Demographics & Attitudes”, baby boomers they say “in the UK have an active retired population who enjoy travel, camper vans (and e.bikes) And the youth they argue have “more products aimed at kids riding with parents off-road and some aimed at independent teenagers” So it looks that 2019 is set to be the e.bike year!
