Well, incredible as it may seem, English Electric Motor Co has been trading a little over a year! In fact, our first year anniversary was officially in September, but due to our hectic schedule, it passed us by! So we thought we’d share some of the highlights in the EEMC 2017/2018 calendar as we’re about to venture into 2019!
It all started in September 2017 with the arrival of the Zero and Super Soco electric motorcycles brands, then in October, we headed off to the
Copdock motorcycle show and soon after that we introduced our doorstep demo days/popup shops and electric alley events in East Anglia.
It was a baptism of fire as East Anglia’s first all-electric-motorcycle dealership offering this service, but we had a great response!
June & July were certainly busy months, we attended the Malle Mile near London, it was a great bike fest held over 3 days, EEMC collaborated with Zero, SuperSoco and Oset electric motorcycles to sponsor the UK’s first ‘Electric Sprint and Hill Climb’ at the event and according to MotorCycle News is “Probably the most British event on the motorcycling calendar”
Our motorcycles didn’t disappoint, beating many of their combustion counterparts – Go Electric!
2018 also saw EEMC take onboard Oset a children/teenager electric motorcycle brand – they’ve been a really big hit on our electric/dirt circuit at our HQ!
In June/July we organised with Star Wing Brewery a custom motorcycle event, where we showcased all our electric motorcycles. It was such a success that we followed it up the next month with an even bigger bash attended by approximately 500 people! The Beer & Bike events will certainly be showcasing in our 2019 calendar – we’ll keep you posted.
We’ve been very fortunate to have some great feedback from some well-established vloggers, Royal Jordanian caused a right royal stir whilst riding one of EEMC’s Zero electric motorcycles – his’ fist-bump’ video went viral!
Other vloggers include Lamb Chop Rides who tested the Zero FXS and Bruce Smart aka @TeaPotOne’s review of our Zero DSR
We also attended quite a few electric events, the
Carbon Charter Party, EV Experience Day, Rospa’s Suffolk members and Carnival of Electric Cars – and we can safely say that the electric message is definitely getting out there! So then a year on and we were back in Ipswich at the Camrider’s event – what a difference a year makes! October and November saw another three additions to the EEMC HQ, the NIU electric scooter, Sur-ron and Kuberg e.bikes came onboard, just before we attended the Motorcycle Live Show at the NEC.
Our commitment to the EV movement saw us situate a fast charger manufactured by eocharging and installed by AngliaCarCharging – great job guys.
In recognition of our commitment to the EV movement, we recently received an EV thank you from Charlotte Smith @EV_TQs.
We hope you’ll join us on our electric journey through 2019, and we’ll keep you posted regarding our Empire Nights, ETrack Days, OffRoad challenges and Invite Nights, which are just some new additions to this year’s calendar.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
